It seems that every beauty blogger and their dogs are raving about pre cleansers and balms at the moment. Previously I was yet to try one I have loved. Most of the brands I had tried in the past just never really worked. They were so hard to remove from the face and became so messy it was just inconvenient. Until The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm came into my life, this has literally changed my skin and routine.

If you haven’t heard of a cleansing balm the technique is to apply to dry skin. The balm will start to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin. The thought of these products used to make me cringe. I always felt like they would be so messy. My normal routine for removing my makeup consisted of micellar water and a cotton pad. And If I’m being really honest this never removed all of my makeup. I am so glad I now have the Clinique cleansing balm in my routine.

The idea of this cleanser is it comes as a solid balm. The container is huge and you don’t need a lot at all so I feel like you will get lots of uses from the balm, making it well worth the money.

To use, simply scrape out a small amount of product.

I used about an almond sized amount. Rub the product between your fingers to warm up the balm and it will then turn into liquid. Start rubbing gently into your face, personally I avoided my eye area because I have eyelash extensions but the balm is safe to use on your eyes. Perfect for removing all traces of your eye makeup including mascara.

Once the balm is all rubbed in and you can see your makeup has started to melt away you will potentially look like a hot mess, you know it is working.

Start to add little water and massage to remove the product or you can simply jump in the shower and rinse off that way. I personally find jumping in the shower a lot easier and quicker. After you have rinsed with water simply pat dry with a towel.

Once I had patted my face dry with a towel. My skin felt incredibly soft and hydrated which I love the feeling of. Normally my skin can be quite oily but currently being pregnant it is so dry. So that extra hydration is exactly what I need.

If you have previously tried a product of the same nature a balm that melts away your makeup. You may have found it a bit messy and really difficult to remove. The Clinique Balm is the opposite it is so simple and so easy to remove from the face I am super impressed. I would definitely recommend giving this product ago. This method of removing my makeup has definitely replaced micellar water method. I will continue to use this every day to remove my makeup.
