How good is Your Skincare Routine?
How good is your skincare routine? You cleanse, tone, and moisturise. But are you looking after your skin properly? Here are some things you may be missing out on.
Morning and Night
Your skin needs to be cleaned every night. You’ve touched laptops, phones, food, doorknobs, toilets, and probably shaken someone’s hand. And then, like most people, you’ve sat down with your hand lightly touching your chin, or you’ve scratched your nose or rubbed your face. And all that dirt has then been put on your face. So it’s pretty important to wash your face every evening. But what about the morning? You’ve slept all night, but you’ve tossed and turned and your pillow has rubbed against your skin, the very pillow your hair has been on, which may have collected dirt throughout the day (if you’re more of a morning shower kind of person). Moral of the story: clean your face every morning and night. Cleanse, tone, moisturise, at the very least.
Take It Off!
So many women go to sleep with their makeup still on, and so many women complain about wrinkles early on in life, as well as damaged skin. Clogged pores, acne, dry skin. These are all things that leaving makeup on at night causes. You can even get eye infections if you sleep with mascara on, and it can leave your eyelashes feeling brittle, and prone to falling out. Using a simple makeup remover can really change your life.
Night Vs Day
Do you use a different moisturiser for nighttime vs daytime? If not, you might want to rethink your routine. Daytime moisturisers usually contain suncream, which you don’t really need at night. Nighttime moisturisers usually have soothing properties, giving your skin the care it needs while you sleep. It can also repair your skin, so you’ll have lovely, soft skin the next morning.
Find a daytime moisturiser with an SPF of 30+ to wear under your makeup, or simply wear suncream under your makeup. It will stop your skin from getting blemishes, burning, and you’ll be less prone to breakout or blisters. And you’ll thank us for it!
